About the job SharePoint Implementation & Migration Specialist
We are looking for a motivated and technically proficient SharePoint Implementation & Migration Specialist to assist in the migration of on-premises file shares to SharePoint Online. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of SharePoint architecture, file system structures, and basic scripting. This role will support the design, planning, execution, and post-migration validation processes while working closely with senior consultants and end users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the assessment of existing file shares, folder structures, and user access.
- Support the design and setup of SharePoint Online sites, libraries, and metadata.
- Execute migrations using tools such as ShareGate, Microsoft Migration Manager, or PowerShell scripts under guidance.
- Help maintain migration logs, track progress, and resolve minor issues or errors.
- Validate post-migration content, including permissions, file integrity, and metadata.
- Assist with user onboarding, basic training, and issue resolution post go-live.
- Support documentation of migration plans, mappings, and configurations.
- Collaborate with senior team members, project leads, and department stakeholders.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 2 to 5 years of IT experience, including exposure to SharePoint Online or Microsoft 365.
- Hands-on experience or training with file server structures and basic NTFS permissions.
- Familiarity with SharePoint features like document libraries, versioning, and permissions.
- Exposure to migration tools like ShareGate, SPMT, or PowerShell scripting.
- Good understanding of Microsoft 365 tools (OneDrive, Teams, Outlook).
Nice to Have:
- Basic PowerShell scripting knowledge.
- Experience with Microsoft Lists, Power Automate, or InfoPath/Forms.
- Prior involvement in data classification or cleanup initiatives.
- Familiarity with NetApp, Windows File Servers, or NAS systems is a plus.
Soft Skills:
- Strong willingness to learn and grow in SharePoint and cloud platforms.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to follow structured processes.
